Authorities have arrested a third person in the connection with a Longview shooting that took place earlier this week.

On December 17, at 9:51 p.m., police were dispatched to reports of gunfire at the Towne Oaks North Apartments located at 2501 N. Eastman Rd.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they were told that a white male had entered the apartment and attacked one of the people living there. That suspect, identified as Noah Wood, 17, of Longview, then entered the bedroom of the apartment and was shot dead by another resident armed with a rifle. Wood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have classified the case as an aggravated robbery attempt. Two other men have also been arrested in connection with this aggravated robbery.

The most recent suspect arrested has been identified as Robert Acles, 20, of Longview. He is charged with aggravated robbery and is currently in the Gregg County Jail.

Authorities also took into custody Xavier Ward, 20, of Longview, on Wednesday.

This case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office and remains under investigation.
