The Smith County Sheriff's Office is currently pursuing an armed robbery suspect.

According to John Moore, Public Information Officer for the Smith County Sheriff's Office, the manhunt is taking place near Lavender Road and Red Bird Lane. A DPS helicopter has been called in to assist the search.

Reports indicate the suspect may be Adam Heath Bowers, the man wanted in connection with the robbery of a Lindale Wal-Mart and Smith County Family Dollar, but that information has not been confirmed by officials. The suspect is wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.

He is also wanted by the Lindale Police Department regarding the Monday morning robbery of the Lindale Wal-Mart. Officials had obtained an Aggravated Robbery felony warrant for Bowers. He is believed to be one of the people who were seen taking merchandise from the store, located at 105 East Centennial Boulevard.

Details are limited but KETK has a crew en route and  will update details as soon as they become available.
