Suspect involved in shootout with Longview police officer identified, dies at local hospital
Longview, Texas (KETK) — The suspect in a Thursday afternoon shootout with a Longview police officer has died from injuries at a local hospital.
According to the Longivew Police Department at 3:50 p.m., an officer attempted to pull over Regan Marshall Wagner, 23, of Longview, in his car when gunfire was exchanged. Wagner was shot and taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries before dying.
Wagner had been previously arrested in Gregg Conty for making terroristic threats againse a public servant.
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave for the duration of the investigation being conducted by the Texas Rangers.
