UPSHUR COUNTY, Tx (KETK) — One woman was killed and two other people were hospitalized with stab wounds Wednesday.
The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office answered a call for help a little after 5:30 p.m. in northern Upshur County on the 7200 block of Ginger Road.
Upshur County Sheriff Anthony Betterton tells KETK, when deputies arrived at the scene, two people were running away from a house with multiple stab wounds. It was later learned the stabbings took place following a small argument.
The victims told deputies that Eddie Baker, 26, had doused the home in gasoline and threatened to set it on fire before he ran away. Deputies chased down Baker, arrested him and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
It was later reported to the sheriff’s office that a woman who was living with Baker at the time was also missing. Deputies arrived at the missing Baker’s home, where she was found dead. The victim has been identified as Tana Fuller Warren.
Baker is also being charged with murder. During questioning, Baker admitted to stabbing and killing Warren, then placing her in the back of his residence. His bail amounts total $1.35 million.
