Teacher accused of rape receives additional molestation charge
Shreveport, La (KMSS) — A local teacher who was arrested last month for sexually assaulting a mentally challenged student now faces more charges.
Jeremy A. Pierce, 33, of Keithville, Lousiana, was charged on Wednesday with molestation of a juvenile, according to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office. The offense dates back to 1996 when Pierce was 17 and allegedly sexually assaulted a 6-year-old.
The ex-Port City Christian Academy teacher was first taken into custody back on February 13 for aggravated rape, sexual battery and prohibited sexual conduct between educator and student.
Detectives believe Pierce, on several occasions, texted the victim to leave class and sexually assaulted her on campusand while driving the student home.
Pierce's bail totals $775,000. Authorities are holding him in the Caddo Correctional Center.
