A Texas soldier is behind bars after she went AWOL and was arrested in Bossier City during a prostitution sting.

According to the Bossier City Police Department, Desilee Haven Atkins, 18, of Amarillo, was discovered while police were operating undercover at the Red River Inn, located in the 1600 block of East Texas Street. She was accompanying Berkley N. Bartosiewicz, 20, of Amarillo, whom was arrested for prostitution.

Authorities later learned Atkins was wanted by the United States Army for desertion. She had allegedly left Fort Knox, Kentucky, without permission, said police.

Atkins was booked into the Bossier City Jail and will be placed in the custody of military authorities.
