Third suspect in string of armed robberies turns self in to Tyler PD

The third suspect in a string of aggravated robbiers turned himself in to police Thursday.

Kevin Nelson,19,  was arrested around 4:50 p.m., according to the Tyler Police Department.

Christopher Nelson was arrested Wednesday in Longview. Danzel Warren also turned himself in Wednesday to authorities in Tyler. 


On June 22, 2014, at 9:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to 5709 Mustang Trail in reference to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred. When officers arrived on scene, the caller stated he had been robbed at gunpoint. The suspects were described as two black males wearing dark colored hoodies. The victim stated one of the suspects struck him in the head with a handgun and stole his cell phone. The suspects then quickly left the area on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries.

On June 22, 2014, at 10:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1909 Sybil Lane in reference to an aggravated robbery that had just occurred. The caller told police that two black males wearing dark colored hoodies approached her. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at her and stole her debit card. The suspects then left the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

On June 22, 2014, at 10:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to 2103 W. Jackson Street in reference to a residential burglary that had just occurred. The caller stated three black males knocked on the caller’s residence. When the caller answered the door, the three suspects entered the residence and pointed a handgun at her demanding money. One of the suspects was a heavy set male wearing a dark colored hoodie. The second suspect was tall and thin wearing a black T-shirt. There is no description on the third suspect. The suspects stole two cell phones and left the area on foot. No injuries were reported.
