Truck stolen in Lufkin home burglary

Authorities are searching for clues after a man arrived home from work and found his house had been burglarized and his vehicle stolen.

According to the Lufkin Police Department, at around 12:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to 300 block of Cousart Street on reports of a burglary. When police arrived, the victim told authorities he came home from work around midnight and found his house broken into by an unknown person(s).

Detectives determined the burglar(s) made their way into the home through a window by breaking it. The thieves got away with jewelry, coins and key to a Ford Ranger truck, which was stolen from the driveway.

The truck was valued at around $7,000 and the jewelry, $500.
