Two women attacked, robbed at gunpoint in Rusk

Two women were robbed at gunpoint in Rusk, and now police are searching for the suspects. 

It happened in the 100 block of North Main Street late Sunday night. 

According to the Rusk Police Department, at 8:15 p.m., two women were leaving a local radio station when two black males confronted the victims and held them at gunpoint.

One of the women was then pistol-whipped in the head and pushed to the ground by a man in a red hoodie. The other was awas allegedly wearing a black hoodie. Both are described as a medium build and about 5'7".

One of the men then stole the woman's purse, and they both took off in different directions.

According to sources, a helicopter assisted in the searching for the robberts and one suspect may have been spotted on top of a building in the appraisal disctrict. Neither man was captured.
