Tyler native gets 35 years for string of bank robberies
Dallas, TX — A Tyler, Texas man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for 11 North Texas bank bank robberies, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Steven Ray Milam, 44, also known as the "Handsome Guy Bandit", pleaded guilty back in May in a Dallas courtroom.
Milam faced anywhere from 32 years to life in prison when he was sentenced by a district judge.
Milam was arrested on January 3, 2012, in Mississippi, after a chase along Interstate 10 in which a tire was shot out of the vehicle he was driving by Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd.
