Tyler PD: Mother arrested after baby found in hot car

Tyler, Texas (KETK) — A Whitehouse mother is behind bars Wednesday after police discovered a sweating, lethargic child in a vehicle at a Tyler store.
Tyler officers were dispatched to Sam’s Wholesale, located on the SSW Loop 323, in reference to a 3-year-old left unattended in a vehicle around 1:35 p.m.
A witness found Smith County District Attorney’s Office Investigator Corey Hoover in the parking lot and relayed what they had seen.
Hoover immediately went to the vehicle and discovered a child strapped in a car seat with the door unlocked. Hoover removed the child from the vehicle and noticed the child was very lethargic and wet from sweat.
EMS was called to the scene to take the child to a local hospital. Officers located the mother and determined the child may have been left in the vehicle unattended for about an hour.
The woman was identified as Lisa Tang, 44. She was arrested and charged with child endangerment. She was booked into the Smith County Jail.
Child Protective Services was contacted in reference to this incident.
