Smith County District Attorney Investigator Cory Hoover began working to locate wanted sex offender Tracy Todd Smith, of Tyler, after the conclusion of this trial on June 12, 2013.

Smith appeared in Judge Kerry Russell’s Court for a hearing on a second degree felony charge; ”Fail to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Life/Annually”.Court proceedings on this case ended with testimony during the morning session. When court convened for the afternoon session Smith failed to return to court.

As a result of Investigator Hoover’s diligent work, Smith was contacted and indicated he would turn himself in. 

On Tuesday, Smith did surrender to authorities and was arrested. Smith has been booked in at the Smith County jail.
