The man found dead on East Ohio Street in Van this morning died from a fatal stab wound to the chest, according to Van Police Chief, Tony Richardson.

Van police received a 911 call at 10:26 a.m., of a man in the street, and because initial reports said that gunshots were heard, the schools were locked down.

However, Chief Richardson said that police are questioning several people, and that he does not believe the public is in any imminent danger.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is a white man believed to be in his 40's.

Officials expect they will announce a person of interest this afternoon.

Van ISD is reportedly on lockdown.
