UPDATE: Man charged with murder after Tuesday shooting in Smith County

Smith County, TX (KETK) — UPDATE (Wednesday): A man has been charged with murder following Tuesday's fatal shooting in Smith County.
Just after 10:00 a.m., Smith County Sheriff’s Office and Smith County Constables Office, Precinct One, responded to the shooting in the 100 block of Patton Lane.
When they arrived, officers discovered that Alex Wesley Jones had shot and killed another man as the result of a confrontation.
Jones was detained for questioning, and in the early morning hours on Wednesday, he was fornally charged with first-degree murder.
He is being held in the Smith County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
The name of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing.

Officials tell KETK, the shooting involved two men. One died and one is in custody for questioning but has not been arrested.
