A man has been identified in connection with the lockdown of a local high school and assault.

On Wednesday morning, around 6:15 a.m. Tyler Police responded to a bank located in the 900 block of East Southeast Loop 323 on reports of a man acting suspicious.

Alvord Martin, 23, of Tyler was arrested for criminal mischief, assault, burglary of a vehicle and evanding arrest.

Accoridng to authorities, a female caller said she was approached by the man as she got off the elevator to go to work. She felt threatened by him and got back in the elevator to call the police.

Martin ran from the building and was later reported to be on the Robert E. Lee campus causing a disturbance. He fled the campus to an office in the 800 block of East Southeast Loop 323 and assualted a woman. Martin then left the office and was caught by police near the intersection of the loop and Donnybrook.
