UPDATE: Odd items stolen from Lufkin restaurant

UPDATE (November 30th): Police have released photos of the odd items stolen from a Lufkin business earlier this month.

Police tell KETK, they are looking for the individuals who took more than $4,000 worth of taxidermied animals from the Fuel City Travel Center and Denny's restaurant that is under construction on the 1900 block of East Denman Ave. in Lufkin.

The thefts happened between Saturday, November 24th and Tuesday, November 27th.

The stolen taxidermied animals were a were a shoulder-mounted, white-haired longhorn bull, a shoulder-mounted whitetail deer with non-typical (asymmetrical) antlers, a shoulder-mounted "6x6" Elk, and a full-head black bear skin rug.

The photos included in this story were taken when the items were delivered to the construction site.

Investigators have not yet determined how the thief or thieves entered the building, but they believe that the animals were the target item, and that they were the only things taken from the business.

ORIGINAL STORY (November 28th): Lufkin Police are looking for the person or people who took items from a Denny's restaurant.

It happened on the 1900 block of East Denman Ave on Tuesday, just before noon.

According to authorities, several animal mounts and a bear rug were stolen. A police report shows the value of the items to be between $1,500 to $20,000.
