Crime Stoppers of Lufkin is seeking the help of the public in identifying several male suspects who reportedly stole a cash deposit from a convenience store.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., June 30, 2014, four men went to a convenience store on West Frank Avenue in Lufkin. All four were passengers in a gold or light brown colored SUV. One of them, while shopping in the store, noticed that an employee had mistakenly left a cash deposit sitting on top of a cash register.

Accodring to police, after discussing his discovery with one conspirator, he enlisted the assistance of another and then worked to distract the employees while his partner pocketed the money and returned to their vehicle.

All of the suspects are black males. The two shown in the above image from the store’s security camera video were directly involved in the theft and the other two appear, based upon the video provided, to have known about the theft but were waiting in the vehicle when it occurred.

The suspect wearing a white tank top and black shorts pulled low enough to expose his blue underpants was the first to see the deposit and later distracted the employees by asking about food in the deli area. The suspect wearing the dark blue or black t-shirt and black, oversized shorts entered the store, went directly to the cash register, and stole the money.

If you can identify any of these suspects, or identify the owner or driver of the SUV, call Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or submit a tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com. All calls and tips are anonymous and Crime Stoppers may pay a reward for information that leads to an arrest related to this crime.
