Crockett Police arrest two ETX men connected to two aggravated robberies

Crockett Police have arrested a man wanted for an aggravated robbery that happened Wednesday.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 800 block of North Fourth Street at the Hill Top Store, officers with Crockett Police along with out surrounding agencies were called to the scene.

The clerk told officers that the suspect had left just before their arrival and ran northeast out of the parking lot toward Spring Street.

The suspect is described as a tall black male with a soft brown skin complexion. He was seen wearing a brown hoodie with orange writing on the back (the writing could possible be a horse riding club logo), tan colored pants, and a bright pink bandana wrapped across his mouth. 

On Friday, January 31, investigation into the robbery led to the arrest of KaDarius Smoot, 17, and Keon Leonard, 17, both of Crockett.

Police charged Smoot and Leonard were found in connection with the January 8th robbery of the EZ Stop Store on West Goliad and Wednesday's robbery at the Hill Top Store which is located on Fourth Street.

Both Smoot and Leonard were charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. Smoot was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Crockett Police Chief Cross state that he is glad that both suspects are off the streets of the city.

"I am also proud of the diligent work that our officers and detectives put forth into solving these cases," said Cross.

Cross would also like to thank all of the citizens for the information that they provided which help assist the department in the investigation.
