Off-duty officer injures 2 would-be robbers in shooting near Greenway Plaza movie theater

The Houston Chronicle is reporting: an off-duty police officer fired his weapon at robbery suspects outside a movie theater early Sunday.

HPD officer J. Johnson was walking with a friend to the Edwards Theaters Greenway Grand Palace Stadium on Weslayan and Richmond, when a silver sedan approached them. The officer thought they were asking directions, but a man in the front passenger seat pointed a gun and demanded money.

Yet at theaters here in Tyler they have 30.06 signs. Folks with CHL license can't bring their guns.

Hence any stickup artist can rob or kill at will.
