Early voting for the position of Jacksonville mayor began May 30th at city hall. The two candidates, 73 year old Kenneth Melvin and 44 year old Rob Gowin had already gone head to head at a previous election in May.

Gowin won the popular vote by thirty seven votes, but since no candidate won by over fifty percent, a runoff was declared.

Now residents of Jacksonville are heading to the polls for a second vote, and many are saying it's going to be record numbers.
