Monday, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced his intention to donate his salary to charity for each day Majority Leader Harry Reid forces a government shutdown:

"Harry Reid should not force a government shutdown. I hope that Reid stops refusing to negotiate and works with the House to avoid a government shutdown, and, at the same time, prevent the enormous harms that Obamacare is inflicting on the American people."

"If, however, Harry Reid forces a government shutdown, I intend to donate my salary to charity for each day the government is shut down. Elected leaders should not be treated better than the American people, which is precisely why hardworking Americans deserve the same Obamacare exception that President Obama has already granted Members of Congress."

Well Cruz puts his money where his mouth is...

But what do the Democrats put in their mouths? Oh, their foot!

Shut the government down, it's worthless as it is now. Pity though they can't stop paychecks from going to all those Congressmen, Senators, SCOTUS judges, and Obama (and 'Poor Boy Biden'.)

Spot on Tedy point your finger at Reid - HE is the problem... not you. It might help if you sponsor a clean budget & get that passed. Then sponsor an anti-HealthCare bill & maybe get that passed. Simple. If you want to defund HealthCare why not defund gov't waste too? No need not to fund our disabled Vets
Keep up the good work you'll finish your 1 term on a high note. Anyone who can talk for 21 hrs has a bright career somewhere.
PS you can sponsor a bill eliminating gov't employee perks you hate

Does your mother know you are playing on her computer ? Either you are 12 years old or you're a kook, now which is it ?
