Dallas cracks down on game-day parking

October 14, 2009 - 12:16pm

DALLAS — City officials are looking to correct parking issues from the previous year during the Texas/Oklahoma game.

Last year, many fans returned to their cars only to find they had been illegally towed.

This year, police will have more enforcement on the streets to make sure parking attendants have the correct permits. Those without a permit will be ticketed.

City officials say they will also be cracking down on illegal lots.

"[Those parking] need to have a sign. They need to have a receipt that they have paid for and are operating this parking space. There has been about 260 requests for this so it's working well," a city leader said.

In a letter, the city warned companies illegal towing will not be tolerated this year.
