Davion Breaux is 12 years old and was born with a severe and rare genetic skin disorder called Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa known as EB.

His father Kenny Breaux, single father tells us, kids with this disorder are known as “Butterfly Children”.

Davion develops blisters all over his body everyday, and they rupture and bleed with contact or friction, so the blisters are always exposed.

Davion sat down with us and showed us his blisters. He says when they pop it burns and he pretty much is used to the pain.

With a smile Davion says, he’s overcome how he looks and feels by dancing.

“I’m born with it,” said Davion.

The Breaux family tells us, Davion finds his strength through family, God and dancing.

“Sometimes I don’t think about the skin, I just go out there and dance,” said Davion.

He is such a positive young boy and is thankful for his family and his friend TJ Stone, which he met last year at a concert.

TJ Stone is a local artist, a singer with backup dancers. TJ saw Davion at a concert and saw him dancing and asked him to join his music group.

Stone says, Davion has talent and his skin condition doesn’t bother him.

Davion says, when he dances and gets hot the blisters pop, but he continues to dance.

He wanted to share his story with us to bring awareness to EB. He hopes to talk and help other kids with his skin disorder. Davion doesn’t want kids to feel that their blisters are contagious, or that they’re ugly, he wants them to be strong.

Davion enjoys giving back, he has been donating clothes to the Salvation Army to help kids in need for Christmas. He tells us, he wants to help people because people help his family when they're in need.

The Breaux family welcomes East Texans to reach out and contact them if you have questions or share a similar journey.
