Day care head charged with capital murder in death

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The director of an Austin-area day care center has been indicted on a capital murder charge in the death of a 10-week-old child left in her care.
The Hays County grand jury returned the count against 32-year-old Christina Suzanne Lyons. The indictment accuses her of intentionally causing blunt force trauma to the child's head on Nov. 18. The child died on Nov. 25.
Hays County District Attorney Sherri Tibbe tells the Austin American-Statesman that her office won't seek the death penalty, meaning conviction would bring a life sentence without parole.
