DALLAS, Texas (AP) — A man whose body has been recovered from storm debris near downed power lines in Dallas died of accidental electrocution.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday released the cause of death for 35-year-old Robert Ragan of Dallas. His body was discovered Wednesday, a day after storms packing hail and funnel clouds rolled through North Texas.
Nearly 2,800 homes and businesses in the area had no electricity Thursday. Oncor (ON'-kor) crews worked to restore power.
American Airlines canceled 217 flights Thursday at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport over schedule adjustments involving hail-damaged planes. Airline spokeswoman Andrea Huguely says one American Eagle flight also was canceled.
She says 50 American planes required repairs and all but 18 were back in service Thursday. Several American Eagle planes also were fixed.
