TEXAS - An anti-capital punishment group says this year juries sentenced fewer people to death since the US Supreme Court allowed capital punishment to resume in 1976.
According to the Texas Coalition To Abolish The Death penalty nine people were sentenced to die in 2008.
The report also says, 6 executions were stopped at the last-minute and overall executions were down, too.
The final Texas execution of 2008 was November 20th.
So what's behind this drop?
Kristen Houle, the executive director for the Texas Coalition To Abolish The Death Penalty spoke live with KETK on Saturday.
