Deaths of 2 Dallas men blamed on heat
(AP) - The deaths of two Dallas men in their homes last week have been blamed on record summer heat.
The Dallas County medical examiner's office say 50-year-old Patrick Brabec and 43-year-old Norman Thomas died of hyperthermia during a seven-day stretch of triple-digit heat.
Dallas County health and human services director Zachary Thompson tells The Dallas Morning News that the heat threat doesn't end at sundown.
He says people can be susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke when nighttime temperatures remain above 80 degrees.
