CNN — Mitt Romney and Rick Perry were bitter rivals last autumn and early winter, during the battle for the Republican presidential nomination, but that's apparently all ancient history.
Friday the Texas governor will make his first campaign appearance on behalf of the presumptive GOP nominee, an official with the Romney campaign confirms to CNN. Perry will be in Elko, Nevada to headline the opening of a Romney campaign field office. The former Massachusetts governor will not be at the event.
Perry dropped out of the race for the White House in January, two days before the South Carolina primary. He then endorsed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich for the GOP nomination, but in late April he switched his endorsement to Romney shortly before Gingrich suspended his bid for the nomination in May.

If there is anything Romney DOESN'T need, it is the support of that idiot Perry. The Republicans can't seem to do anything right when it comes to this campaign.
Questions: I know slick rick is velcroed to big oil and business, but just how in the world has he won three elections so far? How has Texas stayed repub for so long? Whatever happened to the Democrats in this state? How is it that Texas has become ruled by ultra-conservative churches and deep-pocketed donors? Why is Texas so Baptist, pompous, independent, pro-gun, anti-women, pro wealthy, anti-poor? And...finally...why hasn't the secession movement gained traction? Just asking.
WOW - that's like having Big Bird making a campaign speech for Romney. What percentage of the vote did Perry Winkle get in the Presidential run off? HAHAHA! Big Bird probably has more credibility the "Perry Winkle." What a dork!
It will be interesting to see if slick rick stiffs Texas taxpayers with his flight and hotel charges...oh well...just add it to the tab for his failed "run" for POTUS..."energy" slick rick...remember it is "energy"!
