The City of Tyler employees are gearing up for the Christmas holiday.

Many will be taking part in an annual tradition called "Decorating the Downtown Square" as well as the 25th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.  The ceremony takes place Thursday, December 2nd.

Crews will be decorating the 28-foot tall tree November 29th and November 30th.  The tree was donated by Jackie and Debbie Merket of the Merket Christmas Tree Farm in Beckville, Texas.

The tree was donated on Wednesday, November 24th.
