White tail bow season kicked off late September, but for those who prefer hunting with a rifle, well, your time starts this Saturday.

November 2nd is the first day of the season, and it will last through January 5th in the East Texas region.

There have been some changes this year when it comes to safety courses, hunters now have the option of taking them streamlined, as well as online.

But as long as safety is the focus, the more hunters there are, the better.

Hunters spend more money on conservation through buying their licenses, and also help manage the local whitetail population.

And although opening day starts Saturday, experts say around Thanksgiving, is when you will see the most activity in the woods.
