Despite drought, farmers expecting good crop this year

TYLER - Through a process called drip irrigantion and planning, many crops in East Texas seem to be growing fairly well right now considering the heat.

With no shortage of folks looking for fresh veggies, some are saying there is a new trend in not only buying organic, but buying local and, that's a big part of one farmers business.

Ron Luce, owner of Poppa Skinny's Farm tells KETK, ""They get to see where their food comes from and I think that gives people a little bit of a sense of ease too because they know somebody whose growing food for their family."
