Developer eyes ‘senior health care corridor’ in Longview near shopping center

Longview, TX — Hawkins Parkway appears destined for extension between Eastman and Tryon Roads, as a Tyler businessman plans to build the area into “a senior health care corridor.”
Abby Development President and CEO Brian K. Clarke announced Thursday a multi-phase project called the Hamptons at Longview, a sprawling mix of assisted living, memory care, independent living and patio town homes geared to senior residents and retirees. The project will result in between 150 and 200 residential units immediately east of the Longview Towne Center shopping center.
The development will necessitate extension of Hawkins Parkway beyond its eastern terminus at Longview Towne Center to Tryon Road. Clarke planned to build a two-lane road with a cul-de-sac, but he has drawn up an agreement with Longview city leaders in which he will build a three-lane concrete road with sidewalks that will connect with Tryon Road.
