Dewhurst will run for another term
September 10, 2009 - 11:48am
AUSTIN - Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst plans to run for another term next year.
He broke the news in a fundraising letter to supporters. The letter does not mention the possible United States Senate race to fill Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison's seat. She's expected to step down to run for Texas governor.
Earlier this year, a Dewhurst spokesman says the Lieutenant Governor would consider the Senate seat if it was open.
