It would be more productive to muzzle politicians and restrict law enforcement from peeking through windows to enhance coffers for their sponsors.

Let's just cut to the chase on this one. I suspect insurance companies are behind this law and a revenue enhancement for law enforcement. Perhaps a kickback for some politician also. If this sounds like I'm cynical, I am. After watching and reading about these politicians and lobbyists for so long, is it any wonder?

I don't believe in this new law. My son is 7 and 4 feet tall. Why should he have to be in a booster seat for. The kids who ride a school bus don't have this crazy law to deal with. The school buses are the ones that need safety belts in them. It sounds like it is better for the kids to ride a bus instead of the parent taking them. The law needs to be back like it was, 4 years old or 3 feet tall. I guess we have to pay for the government spending that has been going on

No i do not agree and i don't remember the state asking me my opinion before they put this law into action.we didn't vote on this or any other law that has come to pass.O wait, they don't have to ask us.That's the problem i have.it's a money game really.the state doesn't care if i wear my seat belt as a safety issue.the state wants the money for the ticket i have to pay if i don't.i wish the state would just say that and i for one would have more respect for the issue.
Safety! whatever!

What was wrong with the law we had that required only all front seat passengers to buckle up. It used to be under 18 had to wear seatbelts in the back seat, and over 18 doesn't have to. That was just fine and it worked ok.

I believe in seat belts!!!! I do not believe in this "money" producing law. Do you think that this law would have been passed if the only enforcement was that violators had to watch a one hour video on head trauma that could have been avoided by seat belts? I don't think so. That said, put a seat belt on your child. I have witnessed a couple of kids hitting the windshield at a very low speed crash! Mother came out screaming at person who hit her and forced her into car in front of her. (Does anyone every take responsibility any more?) The children would have been fine if they were wearing a belt!

The government has no business trying to protect me from myself. I have no problems with seatbelt/carseat laws for children. In fact I am for them. Also, I wear my seatbelt because I believe it can save my life. However, Government forcing me to wear a seatbelt, motorcycle helmet, etc. is just an intrusion into my life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!

This is simply more "feel good" legislation. We're saving people from themselves....ahhh. We're saving kid's lives....ahhh. If they are serious about saving kids lives, then where is the section in this law that requires all school buses to have seatbelts for every child? That's a huge tin can with 40 kids in it waiting for a disaster.
Lawmakers that pen legislation which takes away freedoms "for our own good" are a danger, because their bent view of "doing the greater good" overrides their sense of protecting personal liberties.

ALL OF OUR RIGHTS ARE TAKEN AWAY FROM US MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY.NOW THAT EVERYONE IS OUT OF WORK AND HAVING A HARD TIME MAKEING MONEY,THIS IS JUST WHAT WE NEED MORE DUMB LAWS TO STOP US AND TAKE OUR LAST DOLLAR.IF I WAS A COP I WOULD WATCH MY BACK.IT IS FIXING TO GET REALLY NASTY OUT THERE.PEOPLE ARE FED UP WITH THESE STUPID LAWS!AND WHEN YOU BACK A DOG IN A CORNER YOU KNOW WHAT COMES NEXT.I BELIVE WE ARE GOING TO SEE MORE AND MORE VIOLENCE AGAINST THE POLICE FORCE BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO LOOSE AND I CANT BLAME THEM.

THE LAW IS B.S.!!! IT IS CALLED GOVERNMENT CONTROL PEOPLE...WAKE UP!!!! IF I...IN MY VEHICLE THAT I PURCHASED MYSELF....WANT TO WEAR A SEATBELT...IT SHOULD BE MY CHOICE ...NOT SOME REVENUE HUNTING LAWMAKER SITTING BEHIND A DESK ACTING LIKE A MORON.....YES LETS ALL GO PUT ON OUR SEATBELTS SO RESCUE WORKERS DON'T HAVE TO SEE GRUESOME THINGS ANYMORE....WHATEVER.........ME WEARING A SEATBELT OR NOT IS NOT GOING TO LESSEN THE IMPACT IN A CRASH AS SOME DPS/COP REPORTS MAKE IT SOUND! "OH IF HE WAS WEARING HIS SEATBELT WHEN HIS VW BUG GOT HIT HEAD ON BY THAT LOADED DOWN SEMI-TRUCK DOING 85 MPH,HE WOULD PROBABLY MADE IT THROUGH"....WHAT A CROCK....
