Of course there should be term limits, especially in Texas. Did you know that although a Texas congressman isn't paid that much as an acting congressman. I want to say it's less than $7k a year. Once they get two terms under their belt, they can retire with 100% benefits and a monthly salary of around $6k a month for life. It's the country club for lawyers if you ask me. I wish I could work for 4 years and then retire with a package like that. Oh and while they are "working" they are only in session for 140 days every other year. So let's see, work for 280 days and retire. Yep, I want a piece of that action. (Grin)
I agree there should be a term limit and with this across the board to the whitehouse, congress and senate. Server 1-2 terms, then your seat is up for another person to run and be voted in. With no benefits when they leave. Get your own like the rest of Americans that work has to do.
Term Limits: YES-YES-YES. The majority of both Democrat & Republican Senators and Representatives have forgotten that they are elected to serve the citizens, rather than to make themselves rich and act like little dictators calling those citizens whom wish to express their opinions-extremist and radicals-nazis. If you study history, how our forefathers were treated by Great Britain prior to the American Revolution was NO WORSE than we, the USA citizens are being treated today by our supposed federal government. The Congress will never put term limits on themselves, but a Second American Revolution will! I ask you to study Adolph Hitlers actions during his rise to power in Germany and compare these actions with what you see occurring Washington,DC today. The ONLY U.S representative that is on C-Span that makes any COMMON SENSE is Louie Gohmert, too bad that are not about 400 more like him in the US House of Representatives and 200 US Senators. Their should also be a requirement to run for President, is to be a present or previous Small business owner/operator whom has to operate within a budget to stay in business.
I beleave there should have already been a 4 year term when I moved to Texas in 1991 Ann Richards was our Govenor and then George Bush and we need to do something with Rick Perry lets not let him in the Guiness Book of Records for the longest serving Govenor and I am not saying anything bad against Kay Hutchenson but we need a younger person in the Govenor's office
YES, There should be term limits. Look at that old fool Byrd. Get them out so they can pork us to death. Bryan C. You are so right.
Absolutely, term limits should be imposed... locally, stately and (especially) nationally! Getting rid of self-absorbed, hypocritical, 'career' politicians is one "reform" that would truly improve this country. Don't hold your breath tho... it is unlikely to ever happen! Politicians in power will never relinquish that power! This holds true from the local Homeowners Association... all the way to Washington!
