Longview, TX —  

A dog awoke a woman Tuesday as her home in the 3300 block of Thompson Road burned, Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary said.

Zackary said firefighters were dispatched about 3:20 p.m. and arrived to find the front porch and front room of the residence on fire.

He said of the home’s two occupants, one was at home and sleeping when she was awakened by the family’s dog to find the house filled with smoke.
