Dog days of summer art class turns up the heat on creativity
Longview — To commemorate the month often characterized by extreme heat and humidity, children from Northeast Texas learned how to draw dogs Thursday in the “Dog Days of Summer” class at the Longview Museum of Fine Art.
Seven-year-old Caitlin Drennan of Gilmer said her favorite part of the class, which started Monday, was learning to get past stick figures.
“The first drawings I ever did were cats and dogs with stick legs and circle heads,” she said. “The class taught me different ways to draw them and how to make art. I love all kinds of art.”
