Domestic Violence Has Significantly Increased

Domestic violence calls are up in East Texas, according to an Allstate Foundation survey that tracks domestic violence statistics.
Domestic violence shelters have increased rapidly since the beginning of the economic downturn.
Calls for help are expected to spike after the new year.
One shelter reported a 100% increase in the number of families in shelters this year compared to last year.
