Doug Wren is the head coach of the Tyler Junior College baseball team.

He has led the Apaches to their third Junior College World Series in the last five seasons.

What has he learned?

"Just the experience of being there, learning how to manage your team through this tournament, managing their emotions," Wren told KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner. "It's a lot of baseball in a short amount of time."

"We'll try to keep our guys focused each and every day," Wren added. "We've started a tradition here of guys coming into this program and expecting to compete at this level."

Wren and TJC will play Saturday at noon against the Soffolk County Sharks from Long Island, New York.

All games will be played at Mike Carter Field in Tyler.
