A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a sex offender who fled from a Dallas facility.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has added Robert Charles Grunsfeld, 51, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list with a cash reward of $3,000 for his capture.

Grunsfeld removed his ankle monitor on Friday and fled from a Dallas halfway house, he is considered a sexually violent predator at high risk to reoffend.

Grunsfeld has family ties to the Dallas and Austin areas and he is wanted for felony failure to comply with civil commitment requirements.

His criminal history includes one conviction for aggravated sexual assault and two convictions for sexual assault.

In 2010, Grunsfeld was required to live at a Dallas halfway house to participate in the civil committment program. On Friday evening, he intentionally cut off his ankle monitor and fled.

Grunesfeld is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 186 pounds.

He has used Robert Charles Grumsfeld and Robert Charles Grunsfield as his aliases.
