DPS officials cite 'speed, distraction' as likely causes of fatal wreck
Department of Public Safety officials said “speed and distraction’’ were the likely causes of a fatal one-car crash which claimed the life Of Windy Holland, 38, of Lindale early Thursday morning.
The crash occurred on Texas Highway 110, north of County Road 433 just after midnight Thursday.
The DPS spokesperson said Holland’s car left the roadway, hit a culvert “which vaulted her into the utility pole.’’
Holland was wearing a seatbelt, DPS officials said.
The crash is still under investigation.
After hitting the utility pole, power was cut off for area residents for a brief time until power company workers restored electricity.
