Dr. Tim Drain takes us down memory lane at the Junior College World Series
Tyler (KETK) — Dr. Tim Drain is the Athletic Director at Tyler Junior College.
He brought the Junior College World Series to Tyler seven years ago.
Next year, the Series will be in North Carolina.
This last one in the Rose City is bringing back a lot of memories.
"It's bittersweet," Dr. Drain told KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner. "I'm going to come out here next year and hang banners for the heck of it."
"I'll really miss this thing," Dr. Drain added. "But what a way to go out with our team in it."
TJC won the national championship in 2007.
That was the first year the World Series was played in Tyler.
"Never in our wildest dreams did we predict 2007," Dr. Drain said. "We had out first conference championship, our first district championship and our first national championship."
"If I left this place tomorrow, it's still one of the top three memories of my TJC days," Dr. Drain added. "It was something I'll never forget."
