One person was killed, another injured in a late night wreck in Kilgore.

Police say it happened around midnight near Rabbit Creek on Highway 259.

They say  witnesses reported seeing Luis Ocura-Torres, 19, and Carol Villanueva, 17, driving at high rates of speed when they ran off the road, rolled and landed upside down in the creek.

Torres was killed in the accident.

Villanueva, who was 33 weeks pregnant, was injured; an emergency C-section was performed. Police say the baby boy is 5 lbs. and is currently in the ICU at a local hospital. The mother is also said to be in critical condition.

Police say they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

This is very sad. Whether alcohol was involved or not, a life was lost and a baby and it's young mother are fighting for their lives. Never, ever condemn someone whom you haven't walked in their shoes. This young man's family is hurting and the young woman's family is hurting. God's blessings on this young woman and her baby. Prayers for the young man's family.
