WASHINGTON - Companies are voluntarily changing labels of over-the-counter cold and cough medicines.

They're also asking parents with children younger than four to not give them the medications.

Manufacturers say the drugs are safe and effective, but they acknowledge dosing errors and accidental ingestion are leading to injuries among children.

The FDA says they will continue their research.
