Drunk driver kills one in weekend wreck

TYLER — One man was killed Saturday after a motorcycle and pickup truck collided at the intersection of Palace and Oakwood.
Tyler police say it happened around 5:39 p.m.
Witnesses say the motorcycle had a green light and the truck failed to yield the right of way, turning in front of it, and the motorcycle hit the passenger side of the truck.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He is identified as 24-year-old Carlos Edgar Ramirez-Medina of Tyler.
51-year-old Charles Winn, of Tyler, is charged with intoxication manslaughter.

I dont know who played the race card. I didn't see anything about race except to describe the man that did this. His picture clearly shows he is black....Is that a bad thing? He killed someones child because he got drunk and drove. Black or white....he's going down.
Truth be known, Winn is probably out there behind the wheel drinking and driving, again. Our judicial system is just not right.
Don't think it has anything to do with who the victim was, but the bonds set for these offenses are just insane. Drinking & driving is the same as giving a child a loaded handgun. Wake up Texas. We need stiffer sentences for these offenders and hopefully it will alleviate some of these drunk drivers. No first, second and third DWI.......only takes one to kill.
I don't understand......how did this man get out on a $5 thousand bond(one victim) for Intoxication Manslaughter, when the man that did the very same thing this last Sunday gets to stay in jail on $300 thousand &200 thousand bonds(two victims)??? Joe Rogers stays in jail and Charles Winn released, and then gets stopped again for another traffic violation just days after his Intoxication Manslaughter charge. Smith County Judicial Records reveal that.
No, I don't understand that & I don't understand why Joe Rogers was not taken to the hospital for medical evaluation. He is diabetic & suffers with extremely high blood pressure. I assume that since he was able to walk they thought he didn't need medical attention. The wreck was on 4-10- 2011 & after he kept complaining about his stomach being swollen & chest continously hurting, finally chest, stomach & back x-rays were done on April 15th. April 18 he went to outside facility for mri.
Why do you have to bring race into everything? Can it not just be our messed up justice system? The driver was african american. Kinda screws up the whole race thing... What's it like to be ignorant and racist?
That man (charles winn)who has taken away that 24 year old boy Should not in any way had the right to post a $5,000 bail bond. What kind of justice is that? That man has taken a son,brother,a cousin,an uncle, and a friend from his family.
