The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) 7th Grade Talent Search is the largest program of its kind in the nation. It identifies academically talented seventh-graders based on standardized test scores achieved while attending elementary or middle school. Candidates are invited to take the ACT or the SAT college entrance exam as 7th graders. Of the 134 Longview ISD students who qualified to take an exam, 41 tested.

The Duke recognized students will be honored at the May 13 meeting of the district’s board of trustees.
