A worker at an East Texas steel plant had to be flown to an area hospital after they were severely injured in an accident Thursday morning.

According to the Moriss County Sheriff's Office, a 55-year-old woman suffered serious injuries from a sulfuric burn at U.S. Steel Tubular Products. Emergency crews responded and cleared the scene, located west of Highway 259, for the woman to be flown to a hospital. Her current condition and identity is unknown.

Lone Star Volunteer firefighters also responded to the incident.

The plant is located about 16 miles north of Diana, Texas.
