Tyler, TX — This weekend is going to be a big spending weekend in East Texas.

It's the 2nd Annual 'Gift Card Weekend'. You're going to be happy if you didn't spend some of your gift cards from the holidays.

KETK contacted the founder of 'Gift Card Weekend' he tells KETK,

"We really want to create the next Black Friday, we've got the interest that you've got gift cards at 11% more retail sales that the average household getting between 8 to 10 of them a year," says Brett Glass, Founder of Gift Card Impressions.

It's a once a year event where participating retailers encourage you to use your holiday gift cards during January 4th through 6th.

There are seventeen retailers participating in 'Gift Card Weekend'  and there are eight retailers in East Texas:

• Chili's
• Red Lobster
• Olive Garden
• Subway
• Apple Bee's
• Marriott
• Sephora
• Bath & Body Works

In order to receive savings and offers from the eight retailers you must have a gift card from that retailer.

"Click on the brand of the gift card they own and that's going to link them to special either savings or feature menu items if they spend that gift card this weekend," says Brett Glass, Founder of Gift Card Impressions.

"Some of the offers are very significant, I'll give you an example... Chili's, if you go in with your gift card you can a free skillet queso appetizer and a free dessert," says Brett Glass, Founder of Gift Card Impressions.
