East Texans spend Christmas Day serving others

As most kids woke up early Christmas morning to see what gifts Santa had brought them, volunteers were arriving at the Salvation Army in Tyler.  "This is the best Christmas i believe I've ever had.. best one I've ever had," said Anthony and Debra Sustaita.  It wasn't the best Christmas because of the gifts Santa brought them, but its was that they are spent their entire day giving back at Salvation Army in Tyler. 

They provides 3 meals a day, seven days a week, and Christmas day is no exception.  "Makes me realize how blessed and fortunate i am and that i probably need to give more of my time than i do," said Rhonda Kelly, a volunteer.  Another volunteer Belinda Hinson said, "Its not just Christmas, its 365 days a year that these people are here and it makes me want to come back and i will be coming back." 

Tricia Ciaruffoli had rocky path that led her to the Salvation Army, and is so thankful for volunteers who are spend their Christmas helping people like herself.  "I'm blessed to be here, and i know its Christmas and i cant be with my kids right now, but it's a yet because the rest of the Christmases ill be there for them," said Ciaruffoli.
