East Texans stressed about holiday traffic

Tyler,TX — It's crunch time and everyone is out rushing doing their last minute shopping.
Traffic is bumper-to-bumper around East Texas.
KETK spoke to Tyler Police about what people need to keep in mind this holiday season.
Drivers are impatient, following too close to other vehicles and running red lights.
"Bottom line is, try to stay off cell phones, pay attention to the roads in front of you, keep that safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, so if you have to stop abruptly especially in heavy traffic then you're able to do so with out running into somebody," says Don Martin, Public Information Officer, Tyler Police.
So you may want to follow traffic laws to avoid traffic tickets during the holiday season.
'Good rule of thumb' have respect for other drivers and be cautious on the road.
Let's make this a safe holiday season.
